ARTIST'S STATEMENT:

The language of the human form, whether expressed in a single gesture or in continuous movement, has been the abiding theme in my work since I began carving wood in 1972. I remain fascinated by the figure's potential to evoke emotion. Visually suggestive, the figure invites imaginative comparisons to sundry other life forms and has provided me rich content for a wide range of sculpture over the years. To whatever degree my pieces may be considered abstract or representational, there is a figurative aesthetic at their core.

While I am especially fond of wood and bronze, I have a working knowledge of various other media and have, together with my professional associations, the technical means of realizing sculptural ideas in a diverse array of materials.
