Biography
Dominique
Boisjoli was born in Montreal , Canada on September 29, 1955. At the early
age of seven, Boisjoli was captivated by color, perspective, and the art
of drawing. It was then with much enthusiasm that she entered the Montreal
Museum of Fine Art School. Later, she was extremely fortunate to follow
the guidance of internationally renowned artist, Alex Bertrand of Martinique,
to perfect her oil painting techniques. Bertrand has said of Boisjoli,
“She is one of the most talented students that has ever followed
my workshops.” The late Mrs. Denyse Delrue was deeply involved in
refining Boisjoli’s artistic career. She also directed the careers
of many well known Quebec artists such as Borduas, Riopelle, Pellan, and
Hurtubise. After living and studying extensively in Montreal, Boisjoli
now lives in the Southwest. Presently, her inspiration comes from the
incredibly rich colors found at any time of the day. Her expession is
free and extremely vibrant; she paints somewhat abstract landscapes and
graceful, bright florals. Boisjoli is utilizing acrylics, a perfect medium
for her personal and unique technique.
